Michelle Stillson Pack Up Your Troubles In Your Old Kit Bag And Smile, Smile, Smile

Well, it's official. Sort of. I think.

I have a goal of moving out of my parent's home and moving into my own by the end of January. Well, actually, my parents have that goal. Em and I have lived with them for almost 5 years, and I know that they are anxious to have their house to themselves for the first time in 27 years. But I've only recently been able to really save up money… Continue

LJ Just Appreciate This Time

Wow, it's amazing to me how long it's been since I've been here! Time feels warped. Possibly it has something to do with moving faster than the speed of light and therefore time seems slower but isn't. IDK. Wow, delirium really sets in by this hour of the night with me, doesn't it?

As I sit here in peace, part of me into a movie and the other part of me typing away, I begin to process the events of today optimistically and try to fight all the guilt a mother bears after tuck

Shannon Doctor Visits

I hate going to the doctor. But when you have kids, you have to suck it up. And it feels like you are there every month. (Or, if you have my kids, you are there every week. No lie. Last month I was at the doctor's office once a week for four weeks straight.)

And going to the doctor's office with kids is the absolute worst. They get bored. They get into things they shouldn't. And, of course, the big G that you have worry about: GERMS. I spend

Shannon Musical Munchkins

My children love music. Don't all toddlers love music? But since we usually only listen to music in the car, their love of music seems a bit extreme. (Although my husband and I actually do our damnedest to influence our their musical preferences. He wants them to like metal. I want them to like country. My daughter wants Mickey Mouse music. My son wants Elmo Sing Alongs. No one is winning this battle.)

My daughter loves to sing now - she sings everything that she is doing. "I'm getti

Tiana Star Split Personalities and Carpedium!

So lately I’ve been thinking about how I walk around during the day with my son in my “mommy” clothes. Normally no make-up with my hair pulled back and clothes I can move in-especially with a 16 month old son running around. It is sure a blast. Especially with his little car I push him around in. We have our little routine of walking(him driving :) up to the Coffee Bean and then back down the park and/or beach to play in the sand. It’s so awesome to be together.

And, then on nights I g

Shannon Potty Training

This is getting ridiculous.

My daughter is almost 3 - she turns 3 in June. And she is not pottytrained.

Don't get me wrong, she is well aware of the process. And she recognizes pee and poop, and recognizes when her body is making it. And - here's the kicker - she is partially potty trained at school!!!

We've tried potty training at home. We've tried bribes - stickers, pennies, and (I'm loathe to admit) M & M's. We've tried potty training… Continue
